When I chose "tea tree oil" as my niche, I didn't realize at the time how important a diversified Monetization Plan would be for my online business. I started with Melaleuca because it was the only one MLM company that focused on tea tree oil products.

A Monetization Mix That Works For Me!
My original Monetization focus, as I mentioned, was on Network Marketing (MLM). That all changed as I gained more business experience and learned more about myself.
Along the way,I discovered I don't really have an MLM/ Network Marketing personality or mindset and my rural location didn't help either.
Now I really have a "Monetization Mix" as the SBI! Action Guide calls it. Besides owning my own product or brand, I am growing my income through affiliate marketing, AdSense ads, and MLM.
The affiliate marketing model appeals to me. It comes without any commitment to purchases, downline support, complex compensation plans, or recruitment and rah rah meetings and presentations. I'm free to move from one product line to another, or even offer multiple product lines without fear of losing the right to represent one company or another.
By diversifying my TeaTreeWonders website, my income is now higher, sales have increased, and the Google Adsense income has surpassed any track record I have ever had in MLM. I admit that I'm a tortoise, but even so, I'm already on the move to the $1000 per month club.
Business Keeps Getting Better
The potential for continued growth is enormous. I'm in discussions with the owner of a large plantation in Australia who is convinced, because of my TeaTreeWonders website, that I am the guy to be his rep.
We are talking about developing a retail line of TeaTreeWonders or Naturally Australian Tea Tree Oil, purchasing rights, bottling, representation and distribution. I could become the face for Naturally Australian Tea Tree Oil here in the USA, reinforcing my tea tree oil expertise!
I'm also working with a local business development and planning group, the Jefferson Economic Development Institute. They'll help me develop a business plan, find funding, and provide consultation and training services. I'm extremely optimistic about the possibilities.
What About The Future?
My website traffic has also increased steadily over the years, going from 100 visitors per day to 1400 to 1700 unique visitors per day. I'll continue to develop TeaTreeWonders as an informational site, and use it to funnel business over my retail and bulk sales business.
I never imagined that I might become a tea tree oil wholesaler when I joined Melaleuca so many years ago. My SBI! website and SBI!'s training have opened up a world of potential income streams.
